Invitations
St. Patrick’s Day parties are all the rage! You will find St. Patrick’s Day parties at bars, pubs, restaurants, Church social halls, even some school classrooms. By sending an invitation that will stand out as unique, you will definitely insure that those you invite will put YOUR St. Patrick’s Day party at the top of their list!
You can certainly do the typical, and purchase invitations from your local card or party store. There are even websites that will send electronic invitations to all your friends and family members, and keep track of their responses online. Those are perfectly fine ways to invite your guests, and either will cut down considerable on time and effort on your part, so you can focus on other things for your party.
For an invitation that will catch the attention of your guests, think outside of a traditional card or email. Packets of shamrock seeds are readily available online, and with the help of your computer, you can print labels listing the party details that you can stick on the back of the seed packet.
You’re Invited for a Blooming Good Time!
The Annual Smith Family St. Patrick’s Day Party
Saturday, March 17th at 6 o’clock
123 Main Street, Yourtown
RSVP before March 10th
Not only is the invitation unique, it serves as a party favor even for those guests who are not fortunate enough to be able to attend.
Another option for something out of the ordinary would be to send each guest a recipe card for something traditionally Irish – like soda bread. On the back of the recipe card, have your invitation:
We’re Cooking Up Some St. Patrick’s Day Fun!
And follow with your party details. You could also send a miniature version of an Irish whiskey cake or make your own soda bread muffins to send with the same message.
How could anyone turn down an invitation where they get to sample some of the delicious treats ahead of time?
If you are only inviting a handful of people – or if money is no object – you could write your invitation on a Mylar rainbow balloon – before the balloon is inflated. Once you have written all of your information – starting something like this:
There’s a Pot of Gold Waiting For You
At John and Jane Smith’s St. Patrick’s Day Party!
Inflate the balloons and tie them with a string. Tape one end of the string inside of a box that is big enough to hold the balloon. Push the balloon inside the box, and place the lid on top quickly. Mail the boxes to your guests, and when they take the lid off of the box, the balloon invitation will float up out of the box. This is a GREAT invitation for a children’s St. Patrick’s Day party as well. It’s fun, it’s different, and although it’s a little expensive, it will make a great impression on your potential party guests!
Don’t dismiss your artistic ability. With a computer and access to clipart of all varieties via the internet, you can make your own invitations at home. Find a piece of clipart you like, print it on cardstock, use a fine paint brush to brush a little glue over some strategic areas, and you have a perfectly simple but sweet invitation. Your guests will appreciate the personal touch!
